<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 95 -101 <br />BY: Councilman Dean McKaX <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO MAKE <br />EMERGENCY REPAIRS ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AT THE LEBERN <br />AVENUE LIFT STATION AND THE BRADLEY ROAD LIFT STATION, WITHOUT <br />PUBLIC BIDDING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, recent inspection by the City of North Olmsted of the Electrical System at <br />the LeBern Avenue Lift Station and the Bradley Road Lift Station has indicated that the systems <br />are in need of immediate replacement and/or repairs of certain portions, and <br />WHEREAS, the problems are similar to those discovered by the City during the course <br />of rehabilitation work on the Dover Lift Station electrical system by EL-O Electric Company, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, because EL-O Electric Company is currently working on the Dover Lift <br />Station electrical system, and has submitted a quote for the anticipated repairs, no savings is <br />anticipated by public bidding due to costs of preparing additional plans and specifications and <br />advertising, and <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid problem has reached such a state that the public bidding and <br />the time associated therewith would be too time consuming to meet the City's obligation to <br />protect the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Service, this Council <br />deems it an emergency sufficient in magnitude to forego public bidding on said project in order <br />to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service, having obtained a quote for said work, <br />be and is hereby authorized to have EL-O Electric Company perform the work consisting of <br />permanent replacement and/or repair of the electrical systems. In any event, the cost for said <br />repair shall not exceed Thirty Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00). Upon approval by the Board <br />of Control, the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a Contract for same. <br />
