'a <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 95-100 <br />By: Mayor Edward Boyle <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION OF <br />THE POLICE DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government in Washington D.C. recently enacted legislation that <br />made federal funds available to qualifying municipalities for the addition of police personnel; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration and Council became aware of such federal funding and, <br />upon determining that there was a need for a"Community Policing" program, caused to be <br />forwarded to Washington an application to acquire available funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was accordingly awarded a portion of available federal money and <br />is now therefore capable of hiring an additional two (2) police officers; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to have two (2) additional vacant positions available at a11 times <br />to accommodate departanent retirements, which generally ca.use a delay in hiring if no additional <br />positions exist; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and Council to update and increase the <br />present police division from 43 to 46 Patrol Officers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Organizational Chart for the Police Division of the City of North <br />Olmsted shall be as follows: <br />A. The Organiza.tional Chart for the Police Division and the personnel set forth in the <br />Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police, who shall be in chazge of the entire <br />Police Division. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of all Non-uniform personnel in accordance <br />with the ordinance establishing the same, by the Council of the City of North Olmsted. <br />
