?. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-94 <br />BY: Councilman Nashar <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING COUNCIL'S OPPOSITION TO <br />THE IMPOSITION OF A FILING FEE FOR THE OHIO <br />ETHICS COMMISSION FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE <br />STATEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Ethics Commission directs that each elected municipal official file <br />a financial disclosure statement on a prescribed form for the enforcement of the Ohio Ethics <br />Statutes, and <br />WHEREAS, this is the first year that filing fees have been assessed for the submission of <br />the disclosure statement, and this Council wishes to state its opposition to such fees. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does declare its opposition to the imposition of fees for <br />filing the Financial Disclosure Statement required by the Ohio Ethics Commission, in that such <br />filing is mandatory; thus current elected officials are unfairly charged a sum of money by the State <br />of Ohio for performing a duty required by the State, and, concerning which, the official has no <br />choice. <br />SECTION 2: That a copy of this Resolution be sent by the clerk to our legislators in the <br />General Assembly. <br />SECTION 3: This Resolution sha11 take effect and be in force at the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br />_ ?`:
