<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-42 <br />BY.• THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE MONTH OF APRIL AS CHILD ABUSE <br />PREVENTION MONTH AND DECLAR/NG AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Child abuse is a community prob/em that requires the <br />involvement among peop/e throughout our community; and <br />WHEREAS, Effective child abuse prevention programs succeed because <br />of partnerships created among government organizations, socia/ se?vice <br />agencies, schoo/s, religious organizations, law enforcement agencies and the <br />business community; and <br />WHEREAS, Youth serving prevention programs offer positive alternatives <br />for young people and encourage youth to develop strong ties to their community; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Be/If/ower Center For Prevention of Child Abuse has served <br />as a source of information and programming to he/p Cuyahoga County prevent <br />child abuse since 1975. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />C/TY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is the desire of this Administration and City Council to <br />support Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. <br />SECTION 2: That this Administration and City Council call upon all its <br />citizens, community agencies, religious organizations, medical facilities and <br />businesses to increase their participation in our efforts to prevent child abuse. <br />SECTION 3: That this Reso/ution shall take effect and be in force from <br />and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />
