~ __ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 72 - ~~~ <br />er ~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION <br />OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO BE ELECTED. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time necessary <br />to effectively carry out the duties of the Members of Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted is increasing steadily as the population of the City ii's augmented <br />by new citizens moving into the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined that the <br />compensation of the Members of Council in the City of North Olmsted should <br />be increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected Members of <br />Council in other adjoining communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the Finance <br />Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the Members of <br />Council elected in the municipal election to be held in 1973, all in accordance <br />with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, TFIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. Council does hereby establish, for the purpose of nominating <br />and electing the Members of Council of the City of North Olmsted and fixing the <br />compensation of the Members of Council to be elected in the municipal election <br />of 1973, that the salary of the Members of Council to be filled January 1, 1974, <br />shall be $2, 500.00. <br />Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances, or resolutions <br />or parts of resolutions, inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this Ordinance, <br />and especially Ordinance No. 64-230, enacted November 4, 1964, are hereby <br />repealed effective January 1, 1974. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to <br />forward a certified and conformed copy of this Ordinance to the Board of Elections, <br />and to the Director of Finance and the Members of Council. <br />Section 4. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />at the earliest date permitted by Article IV, Section 12 of the Charter of the City <br />of North Olmsted. <br />PASSED: ~y,~ ~~/jJ.Z~ <br />ATTEST: <br />Nora T.
