Vie, PAGE Z It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to install or operate an air conditioning or air handling system without first conforming to the provisions of this Chapter and the Building, Electrical, Zoning Codes, General Offenses Code and all applicable ordinances in the City of North Olmsted. Section 1355.03 PERMIT REQUIRED No air conditioning or air handling equipment system shall be installed unless a permit for such installation shall have been secured as set forth in Chapter 1321 of this Title. Applications for such permits shall be made to the North Olmsted Building Commissioner by the owner or by his agent and shall include the plans and specifications of the proposed installation, the location of the equipment, as to property lines, set back, re- quired side and rear yard, the main building and building on adjacent property. Such applications for a permit shall also set forth the SRN, that is affixed permanently to the unit or applicant will produce a certificate establishing that the unit will emit not more than a certain SRN, and also certify that the unit will operate in conformity to Section 1355.05 . Section 1355.04 SCREENING Tn residential areas all outside units installed shall be properly screened by shrubbery or trees so as not to be visible from the front property lines. Front property lines shall be defined by the Zoning Code of North Olmsted. Section 1355.05 PURPOSE This Ordinance is designed to control loud and ob jectional sounds which may be produced by air conditioning and air handling equip- ment installed in or adjacent to a dwelling unit. Ground levels of 60 db A or less, measured as. set forth in Section 1355.08, are not considered loud and objectional within the scope of this Ordinance. Section 1355.06 MAXIMUM SOUND LEVEL Should the Sound Level exceed 60 db A measured, by the require- ments of Section 1355.08, with the equipment in operation, ad- ditional measurements shall be made with the equipment not oper- ating in order to determine its contribution to the Sound Level a- bove 60 db A. If the difference in levels exceed 5 db with the equipment operating and not operating, the equipment shall be considered as contributing to loud and ob jectional sounds and shall be nodified or controlled so that the difference shall not exceed 5db. Section 1355.07 ME~iSUREMENT OF SOUND LEVEL (a) Sound level shall be measured on the " A "weighting network of a Sound Level meter meeting the requirements of USA Standard S1. 4-1961 of General -Purpose Sound Level Meters or latest revision, (published by the United States of Amerlca Standard Institute, New York, New York ), using the slow meter response. The meter shall be calibrated and used according to manufacturer's instructions .
