<br />AN ORDINANCE REESTABLISHING THE WARD BOUNDARIES
<br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED BY REDISTRICTING
<br />THE CITY INTO FOUR WARDS EACH CONTAINING THEREIN
<br />EQUAL POPULATIi9N, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY '
<br />WHEREAS, Article 9, Section 7, requires the Council
<br />to redistrict all Wards within three months after receiving
<br />the official Proclamation from the Secretary of the State of
<br />Ohio, certifying the population of the City of North Olmsted,
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, Article 9, Section 7, further states that if
<br />Council does not redistrict the City within the aforementioned
<br />three months time, then the Director of Public Service is
<br />directad to redistrict the City, and
<br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted was
<br />unable to redistrict the City as required by Article 9,
<br />Section 7, due to the fact that although the Secretary of the
<br />State of Ohio certified the total population, Council of the
<br />City of North Olmsted was not furnished information as to the
<br />areas containing the population in the City of Nereth Olmsted,
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service received the
<br />necessary information to redistrict the City of North Olmsted
<br />into four equal Wards in November 30th, 1971, and has now
<br />established the Ward boundaries, as required by the Charter of
<br />the City of North Olmsted, and
<br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted now
<br />wishes to accept the Ward boundaries, as established by the
<br />Director of Public Service, and which conform to the provisions
<br />of Article 9, Section 7, of the Charter of the City of North
<br />Olmsted.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
<br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio:

<br />Section 1. That the Council of the City of North Olmsted
<br />hereby accepts the Ward boundaries, as established by the Director
<br />`' of Public Service, according to the provisions of Article 9, Section
<br />~;: 7, of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, and which are
<br />~'~~ further set forth in a map attached hereto and made a part hereof
<br />~wk ~ ~

<br />Section 2. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be
<br />an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public
<br />peace, safety, health, and welfare of the City by virtue of the
<br />fact that the Cuyahoga County Beard of Elections must establish
<br />precinct boundaries prior to January 1st, 1972. t~EREFORE, this
<br />Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
<br />passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
