.. ~ S <br />ar: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 71- ~~~ <br />a ,fit <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PUBLIC <br />SERVICE OF COUNCILWOMAN VIRGINIA <br />HODGINS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, on December 31, 1971 Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins completes <br />her term of office ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins has represented Ward 2 from January <br />1, 1964 to December 31, 1971, a period of eight (8) years of dedicated service to the <br />residents in her Ward and also to the entire City of North Olmsted, using her experi- <br />ence, knowledge and education in performing her councilmanic duties ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins has served as chairman of the, <br />Parks, Property and Recreation Committee of Council, ;Public Service and Utilities <br />Committee of Council ;Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee of Council ; <br />and the former Liquor Control Committee of Council ;and <br />WHEREAS, Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins has served es committee member <br />of the, Finanee Committee of Council ;Transportation Committee of Council ;and <br />the Liquor Control Committee of Council ;and <br />WHEREAS, in her capacity as Councilwoman has worked with other municipalities <br />and the state in the problem of solid waste disposal, has investigated each application <br />for a liquor permit within the City of North Olmsted during the a~o~ermentioned period <br />and further has been instrumental in determining the status and the needs of welfare <br />recipients within the City of North Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, during the eight (8) year period ,January 1, 1964 to December 3I, <br />1971 , the City of North Olmsted has experienced a tremendous rate of growth and <br />Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins has authored many ordinances and resolutions de- <br />signed to better promulgate and control the growth of industrial and residential de- <br />velopment within the City of North Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, during her term of service Councilwoman Virginia Hodgins gave un- <br />stintingly of her time never shirking a duty even though, oftentimes, the duty was one <br />which required great tact and patience, and required herrto take a very controversial <br />position as to the outcome ;and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the members of this C ouncil to express their <br />opinion that the valuable contribution of Virginia Hodgins be recognised with sincere <br />gratitude by the citizens of the City of North Olmsted, by the Administration, and by <br />all the Officials of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted', State of Ohio <br />Section 1. That the minutes of this Council show the gratitude and appreciation <br />of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted, its Administrative Officers, and the <br />w?h+rer <br />
