w .e ~ CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 71- f~~ BY: ~.t~ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING COMMISSIONER TO PROCEED WITH THE DEMO- LITION OR REMOVAL OF THE DWELLINGS ON PERMANENT PARCEL NO. 232-34-2 , LORAIN ROAD, NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions.. of Ordinance No. 1331.01 - 1331.99 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, the Building Commissioner has determined that the abandoned dwellings known as Permanent Parcel No. 232- 34-2 and located at Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, the record title holder is Eastland Estates, Inc. , is unsafe, dangerous to human life and a hazard to the safety, health and public welfare of the citizens of North Olmsted ;and WHEREAS, notice to repair, remove and demolish said buildings was served by certified mail on said record title holder on April 30, 1971, ordering said title holder to repair, remove or demolish said dwellings and to commence such repair, removal or demolition within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt of said notice ; and WHEREAS, said notice informed the record title holder of his right to appeal the condemnation order of the Building Commissioner within fifteen (15) days ; and WH£R~AS, said record title holder, Eastland Estates, Inc. , failed to file an appeal within the fifteen (15 )days and has failed to comply with the order of the Building Commissioner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Oh Section 1. That Council deems it necessary to proceed with the demolition and removal of the dwellings or accessory buildings at 25914 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, also known as Permanent Parcel No. 232-34-2, owned by Eastland Estates, Inc. , whose mailing address is 19919 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River, Ohio, 44116 by reason of the fact that said dwellings have been determined to be dangerous to human life and a hazard to the public safety, health ,and welfare of the citizens of the City of North Olmstvid, and that the cost of said demolition and removal be paid from the General Fund of the City of North Olmsted:.and charged to the owner as a special assessment or lien on said parcel of land , and assessed and collected in the manner of other assessments as provided by law. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward to Eastland Estates, Inc. , at 19919 Center Rieige Road, Rocky River, Ohio a copy of this Ordinance.
