~.. <br />O <br />''.~ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 7~ ~® <br />BY %xk/. ~/ice <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TEE EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL <br />COUNSEL TO ASSIST THE DIRECTOR OF LAW IlV THE DEFENSE <br />OF THE MEMBERS OF COUNCIL IN THE CASE OF STATES EX REL. <br />SARINGER v. O'NEILL ET AL., AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Director of Law be and he is hereby authorized to employ <br />the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey of Cleveland, Ohio, as special counsel <br />to assist. him in the defense of the action commenced in the Supreme Court of Ohio <br />against the Council of the City of North Olmsted entitled State, ex rel. Beringer <br />v. O'Neill et al, Case No. 71-368. <br />Section 2. That for their services in such matter said firm shall be paid <br />such reasonable compensation as may be approved by this Council following the <br />completion of such services. <br />Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of the City and for the further reason that the immediate employment of <br />special counsel is necessary because the defendant members of Council are required <br />to answer-the petition in such action within twenty-eight days after service of <br />summons; wherefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: .T , 1971 <br />ATTEST: <br />Vk;ct'yC.. <br />i~ <br />Nora T.
