<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71- ~J~ <br />BY: ~ . /// <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING <br />THE COMPULSORY RETIREMENT FOR ALL FULL <br />TIME CITY EMPLOYEES UPON ATTAINING THE <br />AGE OF SIXTY FIVE (65 ) , AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 66-4, ENACTED FEBRUARY <br />1, 1966. <br />WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee of Council has recommended to <br />Council that all full time employees of the City of North Olmsted be compelled <br />to retire at age sixty five (65) ,unless the employees meet certain requirements <br />of the City ;and <br />WHEREAS, Council is desirous of compulso~r retirement of all full time <br />city employees at age sixty five (65) with the exception of those employees who <br />under Ordinance No. 65-241. and those employees who meet the requirements of <br />the City . <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. That effective with the effective date of this Ordinance ro <br />full time city. employee shall be employed or continue to serve as a full time city <br />employee after obtaining the age of sixty five (65 ) , unless said employee receives , <br />in writing from the Mayor and the Service Director their permission to continue <br />his or her employment with the City of North Olmsted. It shall be mandatory that <br />the employee in addition to receiving the aforesaid permission, shall submit <br />himself or herself to an annual physical examination given by a physician selected <br />by the City of North Olmsted. All charges incurred forth. physicial examination <br />shall be paid soley by the employee. This Ordinance shall not pertain to City <br />employees who are covered by Ordinance No. 65-241. <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby instructed to forward <br />a copy of this Ordinance to each department head of the City of North Olmsted <br />with instructions that each employee shall be made aware of the provisions of <br />this Ordinance. <br />Section 3. That Ordinance No. 66-4, enacted February 1,1966, and all <br />the provisions shall be repealed on the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be i;,n" -° <br />force at the earliest date permitted by Article IV, Section 12 of the Charter of the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />l/ <br />Nora T.
