~tw.~~ <br />BY: <br />CITY~OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N O. 71- // <br /> <br />AN ORIINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF <br />THE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY TO <br />BE ELECTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time necessary to <br />effectively carry out the duties of the President of Council of the City is augmented <br />by new citiznes moving into the City ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined that the <br />compensation of the President of Council in the City of North Olmsted should be <br />increased commensurate with the com~~ssation paid to elected Presidents of <br />Council in other adjoining communites ;and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the Finance <br />Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the President of <br />Council elected in the municipal election to be held in 1971, all fn accordance <br />with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. Council does hereby establish, for the purpose of nominating <br />and electing the President of Council of the City and fixing the compensation of the <br />President of Council to be elected in the municipal election in 1971, that the salary <br />of the President of Council to be filled in the election in 1971 shall be $2, 900.00. <br />Section 2. That Ordinance No. 64-231, enacted November 4, 1964, and <br />any other ordinance orb parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance is hereby <br />repealed as of the effectitve date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby declared to forward to <br />the Board of Elections a certified and conformed copy of this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure and suc~~~emergency exists by virtue of establishing the salary 30 days <br />in advance of March 5, 1971 and the necessity of notifying the Board of Elections <br />of Cuyahoga County of the salary of the President of Council to be filled under the <br />provision of this Charter in the November election of 1971, in order for said Board <br />of Elections to establish the filing fees for the office of the. President of Council, <br />which filing date expires March 5, 1971. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest <br />period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />Nora~T.
