<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 71- `~ <br />~~ . <br />BY: ~ , <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF <br />THE DIRECTOR OF LAW OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time necessary to <br />effectively carry out the duties of the Director of Law of the City of North Olmsted <br />is increasing steadily as the population of the City is augmented by Rew citizens <br />moving into the City ;and <br />WHEREAS, Finance Committee of Council has determined that the compen- <br />sation of the Director of Law in the City of North Olmsted should be increased com- <br />mensurate with the compensation paid to elected Director of Law in other adjoining <br />communities ;and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the Finance <br />Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the Director of Law <br />elected in the municipal election to be held in 19 7L, all in accordance with Article <br />IV, Section 6 df the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. Council does hereby establish, for the purpose of nominating <br />and electing the Director of Law of the City and fixing the compensation of the <br />Director of Law to be elected in the municipal election in 1971, that the salary of <br />the Director of Law to be filled in the election in 19 71 shall be $13, 000.00 . <br />Section 2. That Ordinance No. 69-13, enacted January 21, 1969, and <br />any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance is here- <br />by repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby declared to forward to <br />the Board of Elections a certified and conformed copy of this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure and such emergency exists by virtue of establishing the salary 30 days <br />in advance of March 5 , 19 71 and the necessity of notifying the Board of Elections of <br />Cuyahoga County of the salary of the Director of Law to be filled under the provisions <br />of this Charter in the November election of 1971, in order for said Board of Elections <br />to establish the filing fees for the office of the Director of Law ,which filing date <br />expires March 5, 1971. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be force <br />immediately upon it`s passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: r ~~~ <br />ATTEST Mfr '///~ <br />Nora T.
