:.r~>r. <br />~' <br />'g~~9d!%` <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 70-120 <br />BY Mr. West <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />APPLY TO URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION AD- <br />MINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DE- <br />PARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A GRANT <br />FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS <br />LINE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the rolling stock of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus <br />Lines need replacing; and <br />WHEREAS, the United States Government through its Department of <br />Transportation, Urban Mass Transportation Administration, created the <br />Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 for the purposes of giving financial <br />assistance to municipalities to assist them with problems of mass transpor- <br />tation; and <br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted desires to acquire <br />a federal grant to purchase new rolling stock for the North Olmsted Muni- <br />cipal Bus Line. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, Ralph E. Christman, is hereby <br />authorized to apply for a federal grant under the Urban Mass Transportation <br />Act of 1964, created by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration of the <br />United States Department of Transportation, to assist the City of North <br />Olmsted in the purchasing of new rolling stock of the North Olmsted Munici- <br />pal Bus Line, and he is further authorized to do everything required of him <br />in order to secure the aforesaid grant for the City of North Olmsted. <br />Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, <br />health and safety, the emergency being the need for improvements and addi- <br />tions to the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line.
