C <br />er: <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 73- /S"~,~" <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE "MODEL GENERAL <br />OFFENSES ,CODE", WHICH CONFORMS TO THE 1972 <br />HOUSE BILL # 511, EFFECTIVE JANUARY I~ 1974, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Municipal League and the Capital University Law <br />School have prepared a "Model General Offenses Code "for Ohio municipalities <br />in conformance with House Bill # 511 passed by the 109th General Assembly for the <br />State of Ohio, effective January 1, 1974 ;and <br />WHEREAS, in 1973 the Ohio Supreme Court promulgated new rules of <br />criminal procedure, effective July 1, 1973 ;and <br />WHEREAS, the new Criminal Code and the rules of procedure require a <br />comprehensive revision of the General Offenses Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted wishes to a ssist the <br />Police Department of the City of North Olmsted in carrying out its duties under <br />the r~evv C-3riminal Code .and, therefore, wishes to pass the "Model General <br />Offenses Code ", as compiled by the Ohio Municipal League and the Capital <br />University Law School, until the Legislative Committee of Council can have <br />said "Model General Offenses Code "inserted in the Codified Ordinances of <br />the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That the City of North Olmsted hereby adopts the "Model <br />General Offenses Code ", as promulgated by the Ohio Municipal League and <br />the Capital University Law School, in its entirety until laid "Model General <br />Offenses Code "can be incorporated in the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />Section 2. That any ordinance or part of ordinances, whether codified or <br />not and which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance, are here- <br />by repealed with the effective date of January 1, 19 74 . <br />Section 3. That this Ordinanmrsts hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, <br />health and welfare of the City of North Olmsted by virtue of the fact that the <br />new Criminal Code is effective January 1, 1974.
