'TM <br />~~ y. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. ~~ <br />BY: ~ <br />A RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZED BY THE GEN- <br />ERAL ASSEMBLY TO ENACT APPROPRIATE <br />LEGISLATION TO REQUIRE A MANDATORY DE- <br />POSIT ON BEVERAGE CONTAINERS. <br />WHEREAS, increased use of disposable beverage containers has <br />created substantial problems in solid waste disposal for municipalities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the use of returnable beverage containers would <br />result in a conservation of the country's natural resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of returnable beverage containers would ulti- <br />mately result in a cost savings to the consumer. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Ohio General Assembly is hereby memorialized <br />to enace appropriate legislation to require a mandatory deposit on bever- <br />age containers substantially similar to that proposed by the House Bill>$~'9. <br />Section 2. That certified copies of this resolution shall be trans- <br />mitted by the Clerk of Council, Ronald Mottl, State Representative, James <br />P. Celebrezze and the Ohio Municipal League and Senator Timothy J. <br />McCormick. <br />Section 3.
