A, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 73- ,Q~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />MAKE APPLICATION TO THE OHIO DEPARTMENT <br />OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR FUNDS ALLOCATED <br />TO THE STATE OF OHIO BY THE FEDERAL LAND <br />AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND ACT OF 1964, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is desirous of acquiring lands adjacent <br />to recreational and municipal areas within the City of North Olmsted, and further <br />wishes to develop the areas in accordance with detailed plans now in the office of <br />the Director of Public Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to acquire and develop these areas the City of North <br />Olmsted must receive funds from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and <br />under the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1964; arsd <br />WHEREAS, Council now wishes to authorize the Mayor to make application, <br />and to sign the necessary documents to effectuate same, to the Ohio Department <br />of Natural Resources for monies under the Federal Land and Water Conservation <br />Fund Act of 1964. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted is hereby authorized <br />to make application for funds to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources under the <br />Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1964 for the express purpose to <br />receive monies to acquire lands and develop recreation areas known as: <br />Chestnut Elementary School Park; Porter Road; Landfill Area; Maple Elementary <br />School Park; Clague Park; Birch Elementary School Park and Spruce Elementary <br />School Park. The Mayor is further authorized to make anything necessary to <br />.effectuate the obtaining of funds as set forth and as are detailed in the plans of <br />specification now on file in the Safety Director's office. <br />Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />by virtue of the fact that the application must be in the hands of the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources as soon as possible to obtain priority of limited <br />funds under the Federal Land and Water Conservation Act of 1964.
