CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 68- 1E 7 <br />BY? 1 <br />AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH THE CIVIL SERVICE <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AS <br />ESTABLISHED BY AN D SET FORTH IN ARTICLE VI, SECTION <br />LTHROUGH 7 INCLUSIVE, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, SETTING FORTH THE MEMBERSHIP <br />OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION ACCORDING TO THE <br />CHARTER SETTING FORTH THE COMPENSATEON TO BE PAID <br />THE SECRETARY TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted in Article VI, <br />Section I through 7, inclusive, sbts forth the membership of the Civil Service <br />Commission of the City of North Olmsted ; and <br />WHEREAS, Council wishes to adopt Organizational Charts for all <br />employees in the City of North Olmsted for the purposes of identification as <br />to duties performed and remuneration received ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission employs certain personnel to <br />assist them in their duties as established by the Charter. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That the Civil Service Commission previously created by the <br />Charter in Article VI. Section I through 7, inclusive, with a membership of three <br />( 3) members appointed by the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted for six ( 6) <br />year terms shall elect a Chairman by majority vote and may appoint a Secretary, <br />who shall not be &member of the Commission. <br />Section 2. That the compensation paid to the Secretary to the Civil <br />Service Commission shall be $150.00 per month, payable monthly, retroactive <br />to November l, 1968. <br />Section 3. That all other ordinances or resolution, or parts of ordinances <br />or parts of resolutions inconsistent to the provisions of this ordiance and es- <br />pecially Ordinance No. 67-45, enacted March 7,1967, and Ordinance No. 67- <br />212, enacted September 5, 1967, are hereby repealed with the effective date of <br />this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to mail a copy <br />of this Ordinance to the Finance Department and the Civil Service Commission. <br />Section S. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for thepreservation of the public peace, safety, health and <br />welfare of the City by virtue of making effective the pay increase provided for in <br />Section 1 hereof, which is necessitated by the increase volume of work.
