CITY OF 1VORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 68- 126 <br />BY MT?,T.RR <br />AN ORDIIVANCE AUTHORIZING THE IMPOUNDING <br />OF ANY SHOPPING CART OBSTRUCTING OR LITTERING <br />THE RIGHT OF WAY OF PUBLIC STREETS, SIDEWALKS, <br />OR PUBLIC GROUNDS IN THE CITY OF IVORTH OLMSTEp, <br />OHIO <br />WHEREAS, Council has been advised that the abandoning of shopping <br />carts on public grounds, and on the right of way of public streets and side- <br />walks constitute a hazard to the users of public graunds, pedestrians on public <br />sidewalks,and motor vehicles on public streets ; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by Council that it is to the best in- <br />terest of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted that these obstructions to <br />traffic be curtailed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />N'orth Olmsted, St ate of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That any police officer may remove and/or impound any <br />shopping cart which is unattended and has been abandoned on public grounds, <br />and/or on the right of way of public sidewalks and public streets. <br />Section 2. Any person desiring to redeem an impounded shopping cart <br />must present to the Police Departmerrt proof of right to possession and pay <br />storage charges at the rate of $ .50 per day with a minimum storage charge <br />of $15.00 . The City shall dispose of the shopping cart after a 30 day period <br />of time as provided by law. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby direated to mail a copy <br />of this Ordinance to the Police _01deft <br />Section. 4.
