Full time employees of the Fire Department having completed <br />five years of full time continuous service as employees of said department <br />shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary thereafter until <br />completion of the tenth year of continuous full time service, after which <br />such employees shall receive 4% of their base annual salary,thereafter untzl <br />the completion of the 15th year of continuous full time service, and thereafter <br />5% of their base annual salary until after the completion of the 20th year of <br />continuous full time service and during each year of full time service there- <br />after they shall receive 6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. <br />B. In computing length of service for the purpose ofmaking payments <br />of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part- <br />time services, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity <br />increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any <br />employees of any other benefits which may be due them for part-time service <br />as employees in the Safety Department. <br />C. In addition to the regular base salary plus increment and other <br />wage release, all regulat employees of the Fire Depairtment, including officers <br />shall on their original appointment and during the first calendar year during <br />their appointment, receive $300.00 clothing allowance and shall, during each <br />calender year thereafter, receive a clothinq allowance of $150. 00 to be deter- <br />mined and disk,ursed by and with the approval of the Fire Chief of the <br />Department. <br />D. For each full time member of the Fire Department , the City <br />of North Olmsted, shall pay an amount equal to a single person's rate per <br />month towards the cost of Blue Cross Hospitalization and Medical Mutual <br />preminums of said members of the Fire Department, as established by Contract <br />52YS effective the 22nd of May, 1965. <br />Section 3: That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of <br />ordinances or parts of resolutions inconsistent herewith to the provisions of <br />this ordinance and especially Ordinances No. 66-271; 66-335; 67-65; 67- <br />264 , are hereby repealed with the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 4: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed <br />to mail a copy of this Ordinance to the Finance Departrre nt and Fire Chief. <br />Section 5: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the public peace, health, safety and welfare <br />of the City of North Olmsted by virtue of the immediate necessity of maintaining <br />and increasing the moral and effectiveness of inembers of the Safety Department. <br />WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />its passage, othe rwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: Q' <br />ATTEST: <br />P?Z?_ CQi 9, <br />Florence Holm, Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED; 31S/ G ? <br />i <br />?
