Full time employees of the Fire Department having completed five years of full time continuous service as employees of said department shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the tenth year of continuous full time service, after which such employees shall receive 4% of their base annual salary,thereafter untzl the completion of the 15th year of continuous full time service, and thereafter 5% of their base annual salary until after the completion of the 20th year of continuous full time service and during each year of full time service there- after they shall receive 6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. B. In computing length of service for the purpose ofmaking payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part- time services, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employees of any other benefits which may be due them for part-time service as employees in the Safety Department. C. In addition to the regular base salary plus increment and other wage release, all regulat employees of the Fire Depairtment, including officers shall on their original appointment and during the first calendar year during their appointment, receive $300.00 clothing allowance and shall, during each calender year thereafter, receive a clothinq allowance of $150. 00 to be deter- mined and disk,ursed by and with the approval of the Fire Chief of the Department. D. For each full time member of the Fire Department , the City of North Olmsted, shall pay an amount equal to a single person's rate per month towards the cost of Blue Cross Hospitalization and Medical Mutual preminums of said members of the Fire Department, as established by Contract 52YS effective the 22nd of May, 1965. Section 3: That all other ordinances or resolutions, or parts of ordinances or parts of resolutions inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this ordinance and especially Ordinances No. 66-271; 66-335; 67-65; 67- 264 , are hereby repealed with the effective date of this ordinance. Section 4: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to mail a copy of this Ordinance to the Finance Departrre nt and Fire Chief. Section 5: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City of North Olmsted by virtue of the immediate necessity of maintaining and increasing the moral and effectiveness of inembers of the Safety Department. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, othe rwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
