CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDI NANCE N0. 68-,? <br />BY <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SELECT AND ENTER INTO <br />A CONTRACT TO RETAI N THE PROFESSI ONAL SERVI CES OF AN ARCHI - <br />TECTURAL FI RM TO PREPARE A PRELI MI NARY STUDY AND COST ESTI - <br />MATES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CITY HALL AND CIVIC CENTER, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would to the best interests <br />of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted that a preliminary study, <br />including cost estimates, be prepared with respect to the construction <br />of a new City Hall and Civic Center Complex, and <br />WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the Mayor to interview various <br />architectural firms and enter into a contract to retain the professional <br />services of a firm to prepare said preliminary plans. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE I T ORDAI NED by the Counci 1 of the Ci ty of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to <br />select and execute a contract with an architectural firm with respect <br />to their professional services for the preparation of a preliminary <br />study and cost estimates arising out of the construction of a new <br />City Hall and Civic Center, such cost not to exceed $2590.00. <br />Section 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of <br />the necessity of taking immediate steps to bring about the construc- <br />tion of a City Hall and Civic Center, so that the development of the <br />City may proceed in an orderly manner as rapidly as possible.
