?. ? <br />??? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 69- /1?0 <br />BY <br />? <br />? <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED APPROVING THE COIVSTRUCTION <br />OF AN ELECTRIC TR.ANSMISSION LINE IN THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company has re- <br />quested the City of North Olmsted to review and approve the location and <br />construction of a steel tower, intercity, electric transmission line, de- <br />signed to carry 345, 000 volts, through the City of North Olmsted to be <br />built on right-of-way owned by The Cleveland Electric Illuminating <br />Company ; this line,designated the Avon-Richfie3.d Line, is to extend <br />from the Company's Avon-West Lorain ( Beaver ) Line in Sheffield Village, <br />Lorain County, Ohio to the Company's Star Line in Richfield Township, <br />Summit Coun ty, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted deems it in <br />the best interest of the City of North Olmsted and in the interest of the <br />public welfare that its approval be given for the location and construction <br />of the proposed steel tower, intercity, electric transmission line by The <br />Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the approval of the City of North Olmsted is here- <br />by given The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company to survey, construct, <br />operate, maintain, and reconstruct, a steel tower, intercity, electric trans- <br />mission line through the City of North Olmsted upon a right-of-way owned <br />by The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. The line will enter the <br />City of IVorth Olmsted at the west boundary line on the south side of an <br />existing transmission line ( Avon-Ftawles ) about 0.3 of a mile northwest <br />of Lorain Road. From this point the line will run in a southeasterly distance <br />of approximately l. 2 miles to a point 0. 4 of a mile southeastof Barton Road. <br />This 1. 2 miles of line adjacent to the existing transmission line will be an <br />average of 50 feet of additional width. From this anqle point the line will <br />run in a southerly direction in a right-of-way averaging 110 feet wide for a <br />distance of approximately 0.1 of a mile, leaving the City of North Olmsted <br />at its south boundary about 0.4 of a mile east of Barton Road. The total <br />right-of-way through the City of North Olmsted is approximately 1.3 miles. <br />Section 2. That the steel tower, interecity, electric transmission <br />line shall be constructed in accordance with the highest safety standards <br />for such iines ; that said line shall be so contructed and maintained that <br />power is automatically and instantly cut off in the event that the line should <br />break or fall ; that said line shall be constxucted on steel towers which will <br />average 90 feet in height with conductors aVeraging 45 feet above the ground, <br />with spacing between steel towers on each line from 600 to 1,000 feet, de- <br />pending upon topography and other site conditions, that the steel tower, inter- <br />city, electric transmission line will carry 345, 000 volts.
