? <br />,.?. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 69-/$"'6 <br />BY azv- <br />/It <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE <br />CITY OF 1VORTH OLMSTED THAT ITS ADMINISTRATIVE <br />OFFICERS SHALL COOPERATE IN A JOINT EFFORT WITH <br />NEIGHBORIIVG COMMUNITIES TO SOLVE THE STORM <br />WATER DRAINAGE PROBLEM NOW EXISTING, AND <br />REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 69-153, AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has experienced continued <br />and qrowing problems resulting from over bank flooding and inadequate <br />storm water drainage, and <br />WHEREAS, this problems is related to and aggravated by storm <br />water emanating from both outside and inside the corporate boundaries <br />of the City, requiring improved drainage outlets from the City of North <br />Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, the adequate and equitable solution to this problem can <br />best be achieved by cooperative action between local communities, the <br />State of Ohio, and the United States Government. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the City of North Olmsted does hereby authorize <br />and encourage its administrative officers to work with counterpart officers <br />in the adjacent communities of Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Fairview <br />Park, North Ridgeville, Olmsted Falls, Westlake, West View, and other <br />interested communities, and the State and Federal representatives for the <br />purpose of determining tiie most advantageous program for cooperative <br />action for the management and control of streams within the coporate limits. <br />Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions , or parts of <br />ordinances or parts of resolutions, inconsistent herewith to the provisions <br />of this Atesolution, and especially Resolution No. 69-153, are hereby <br />repealed with the effective date of this Resolution. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />me•asure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, <br />health and welfare of the City by virtue of the fact that basements of homes <br />in the City of Norfih Olmsted have been flooded and extensive property damage <br />incurred, R WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect and be in force im- <br />mediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: /gGq <br />ATTEST: <br />q," r-t/ 9?? - <br />Florence Holm , Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: 9?/11.6f <br />,k,??2 <br />eoL • <br />Ralph .
