' t Revi s e d , ? CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 69-112 BY Miller AN ORDIIVANCE ESTABLISHING A CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSIOIV IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee has recommended to Council that the Cultural Activities Commission be established to encourge and support cultural activities with the City of North Olmsted ; and WHEREAS, the duties of the Cultural Activities Committee is to encourage and promote cultural activities within the City of N'orth Olmsted; and WHEREAS, it shall be the duties of the Cultural Activities Committee, among other things, to further encourage and coordinate efforts on behalf of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : Section 1. That there is hereby created a Cultural Activities Committee whose duties are to serve as a policy maker and to render administrative decisions, and to coordinate cultural activities by utilizing all resources necessary to further promote cultural achievement within the City of IVorth Olmsted. The Cultural Activities Committee shall not take control of any cultural events from a sponsoring organization and shall not assume the financing of any events as the financing shall remain the sole responsibility of the sponsoring organization who shall assume any profit or loss. Section 2. The Cultural Activities Committee shall encourage and further cultural activities in the City of North Olmsted. The Cultural Activi- ties Committee shall coordinate cultural activities to prevent date, material and personnel conflicts. The Cultural Activities Committee shall provide the best possible publicity for such events. The Cultural Activities Committee shall whenever possible, combine two smaller events of different, but com- patible arts, into a larger presentation to promote better attendance. The Cultural Activities Committee shall coordinate these events with the City Government so necessary permits,safety services,etc, can be arranged with a minmum of trouble and misunderstanding. Section 3. The membership of the Cultural Activities Committee shall be limited to seven ( 7) members who shall serve for a term of one ( 1) year and who shall be- appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Council of the City of North Olmsted. The members of the Cultural Activities Committee may serve for more than one ( 1) term, but must be reappointed annually, and it is recommended, but not limited to, that the Community Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Ministeral Association, the Board of Education, and the Recreation Commission, be represented by membership on the Cultural Activities Committee, in addition , plus two ( 2) members chosen at large, primarily because of unusual interest and ability in this field of endeavor.
