' t <br />Revi s e d <br />, <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 69-112 <br />BY Miller <br />AN ORDIIVANCE ESTABLISHING A CULTURAL ACTIVITIES <br />COMMISSIOIV IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee has recommended to Council <br />that the Cultural Activities Commission be established to encourge and <br />support cultural activities with the City of North Olmsted ; and <br />WHEREAS, the duties of the Cultural Activities Committee is to <br />encourage and promote cultural activities within the City of N'orth Olmsted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it shall be the duties of the Cultural Activities Committee, <br />among other things, to further encourage and coordinate efforts on behalf of <br />the citizens of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That there is hereby created a Cultural Activities Committee <br />whose duties are to serve as a policy maker and to render administrative <br />decisions, and to coordinate cultural activities by utilizing all resources <br />necessary to further promote cultural achievement within the City of IVorth <br />Olmsted. The Cultural Activities Committee shall not take control of any <br />cultural events from a sponsoring organization and shall not assume the <br />financing of any events as the financing shall remain the sole responsibility <br />of the sponsoring organization who shall assume any profit or loss. <br />Section 2. The Cultural Activities Committee shall encourage and <br />further cultural activities in the City of North Olmsted. The Cultural Activi- <br />ties Committee shall coordinate cultural activities to prevent date, material <br />and personnel conflicts. The Cultural Activities Committee shall provide the <br />best possible publicity for such events. The Cultural Activities Committee <br />shall whenever possible, combine two smaller events of different, but com- <br />patible arts, into a larger presentation to promote better attendance. The <br />Cultural Activities Committee shall coordinate these events with the City <br />Government so necessary permits,safety services,etc, can be arranged <br />with a minmum of trouble and misunderstanding. <br />Section 3. The membership of the Cultural Activities Committee shall <br />be limited to seven ( 7) members who shall serve for a term of one ( 1) year <br />and who shall be- appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted. The members of the Cultural Activities Committee <br />may serve for more than one ( 1) term, but must be reappointed annually, and <br />it is recommended, but not limited to, that the Community Council, the <br />Chamber of Commerce, the Ministeral Association, the Board of Education, <br />and the Recreation Commission, be represented by membership on the Cultural <br />Activities Committee, in addition , plus two ( 2) members chosen at large, <br />primarily because of unusual interest and ability in this field of endeavor. <br />Any appointment made within a given calendar year must be made prior to
