<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 69-/0.3 <br />BY . ?GC(?? <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 545.08 OF <br />THE GENERAL OFFENSES CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, ( CODIFIED ORDINANCES ), <br />ENTITLED " CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPONS, " TO <br />CONFORM TO CHANGES ENACTED BY THE OHIO <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is in the best interest,of <br />the City of North Olmsted that the North Olmsted General Offenses Code be <br />reviewed to eliminate any conflicts with provisions of the State Statutes, as <br />enacted by the Ohio General Assembly. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That Section 545.08, Chapter 545 ( Codified Ordinances ) <br />of the North Olmsted General Offenses Code shall read as follows: <br />545.08 CARRYTNG CONCEALED WEAPONS. <br />( a 1 No person shall carry a pistol, bowie knife, dirk <br />or other dangerous weapon concealed on or about <br />his person. This section does not affect the right <br />of sheriffs, regularly appointed police officers of <br />municipal corporations, regularly elected constables, <br />and special officers as provided by Ohio R. C. 737.10, <br />1717. 0 6, 17 21.14 and 2917 . 3 2 to go armed when on duty. <br />Deputy sheriffs and specially appointed police officers, <br />except as are appointed or called into service under <br />such sections, may go armed if they first give bond to <br />this State, to be approved by the Clerk of the Court <br />of Common Pleas, in the sum of one thousand dollars <br />($1, 000. 00 ), conditioned to save the public harrn less <br />by reason of any unlawful use of such weapons carried <br />by them. Persons injured by such improper use may have <br />recourse on such bond. <br />( b) Whoever violates this section shall, for a first offense, <br />be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br />Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, or resolution or <br />parts of resolutions, inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance, are here- <br />by repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance.
