CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 69-/0.3 BY . ?GC(?? AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 545.08 OF THE GENERAL OFFENSES CODE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, ( CODIFIED ORDINANCES ), ENTITLED " CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPONS, " TO CONFORM TO CHANGES ENACTED BY THE OHIO GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is in the best interest,of the City of North Olmsted that the North Olmsted General Offenses Code be reviewed to eliminate any conflicts with provisions of the State Statutes, as enacted by the Ohio General Assembly. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : Section 1. That Section 545.08, Chapter 545 ( Codified Ordinances ) of the North Olmsted General Offenses Code shall read as follows: 545.08 CARRYTNG CONCEALED WEAPONS. ( a 1 No person shall carry a pistol, bowie knife, dirk or other dangerous weapon concealed on or about his person. This section does not affect the right of sheriffs, regularly appointed police officers of municipal corporations, regularly elected constables, and special officers as provided by Ohio R. C. 737.10, 1717. 0 6, 17 21.14 and 2917 . 3 2 to go armed when on duty. Deputy sheriffs and specially appointed police officers, except as are appointed or called into service under such sections, may go armed if they first give bond to this State, to be approved by the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1, 000. 00 ), conditioned to save the public harrn less by reason of any unlawful use of such weapons carried by them. Persons injured by such improper use may have recourse on such bond. ( b) Whoever violates this section shall, for a first offense, be guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, or resolution or parts of resolutions, inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance, are here- by repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance.
