CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 69- J Z„ <br />BY <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE <br />MAYOR OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, AND DECLARIIVG <br />AnT EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />necessary to effectively carry out the duties of Mayor of the City of <br />North Olmsted is increasing steadily as the population of the City is <br />augmented by new citizens moving into the City ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined <br />that the compensation of the Mayor in the City of North Olmsted should <br />be increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected Mayors <br />in other adjoining communities ; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommednations of the <br />Finance Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the <br />Mayor elected in the municipal electibn to be held in 19 69 , all in ac - <br />cordance with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. Council does hereby establish, for the purpose of <br />nominating and electing the Mayor of the City and fixing the compensation <br />of the Mayor to be elected in the municipal election in 1969 , that the salary <br />of the Mayorto be filled in the election in 1969, shall be $17,OOC.00. <br />Section 2. That Ordinance No. 67-32, enacted january 17, 1967, <br />and any other ordinance or parts of otdinances in conflict with this ordinance <br />is hereby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to for- <br />ward to the Board of Elections a certified and conformed copy of this ordinance. <br />Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure and such emergency exists by virtue of the necessity of <br />notifying the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of the <br />Mayor to be filled under the provisions of this Charter in the November <br />election of 19 69, in order for said Board of Elections to establish the filing <br />fees for the office of Mayor, which filing date expires March 7, 1969.
