CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 69- r3 <br />BY? Lj JA f <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXIN'G THE COMPENSATIOIV OF THE <br />DIRECTOR OF LAW OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />necessary to effectively carry out the duties of the Director of Law of <br />the City of Ncrth Olmsted is increasing steadily as the population of <br />the City is augmented by new citizens moving into the City ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined <br />that the compensation of the Director of Law in the City of North Olmsted <br />should be increased commensurate with: the compensation paid to elected <br />Directors of Law in other adjoining communities ; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the <br />Finance Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of <br />the Director of Law elected in the municipal election to be held in 1969, <br />all in accordance with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. Council does hereby establish, for the purpose of <br />nominating and electing the Director of Law of the City and fixing the <br />compensation of the Director of Law to be 6lected in the municipal election <br />in 1969 , that the salary of the Director of Law to be filled in the election <br />in 1969, shall be $11, 000. 00. <br />Section 2. That Ordinance No. 64-232, enacted November 4, 1969, <br />and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance <br />is hereby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3. T hat the Clerk of Council is hereby directod to for- <br />ward to the Board of Elections a certified and conformed copy of this ordinance. <br />Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure and such emergency exists by virtue of the necessity of <br />notifying the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of the <br />DiSector of Law to be filled under the provisions of this Charter in the <br />November- election of 1969, in order for said Board of Elections to establish <br />the filing fees for the office of Director of Law, which filing date expires <br />March 7, 1969.WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage, otheYwise, at the earliest period allowed by <br />law. _ <br />PASSED:?1,44,,4 / _ /9(09 <br />ATTEST: <br />Florence Holm, Clerk of Council <br />APP ROVED: )J ?i? /(o ?j <br />! <br />?\ v <br />\ <br />( °\- (?wc?-?-?
