The secretarial or clerical help of the Engineering Department of the City of North Olmsted shall receive, as a longevity increment, the sum of $25.00. This longevity increment shall be payable over and above any annual salaryo ur hourly salary paid to said secretary or clerical help, and shall be at the rate of $25.00 for each and every year said secretary or clerical help has been continually employed by the City of North Olmsted. Section 4. That excluding secretarial and clerical employees and retroactive to September l, 1968, that all full-time employees of the Engineering Department having completed five (5) years of full-time continuous service as employees of said department shall be paid an addi- tional 3'% of their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the tenth (10) year of continuous full-time service, after which such employee shall receive 4% of their base annual salary, thereafter until the comple- tion of their fifteenth (15) year of continuous full-time service, and thereafter 5% of their base annual salary until after the completion of the twentieth (20) year of continuous full-time service and during each year of full-time service thereafter they shall receive (,% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. Section 5. That in computing length of service for the purpose of making payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time services, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employees in the Engineering Department. Section 6. That all full-time employees of the Engineering De- partment shall not be required to work on the following holidays: New Year's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, unless requested to work by the Mayor in emergencies. Section 7. That for all full-time hourly employees of the Engineering Department, the City of North Olmsted shall pay an amount equal to a single person's rate per month toward the cost of Blue Cross Hospitalization and Medical Mutual premiums of said employees, as estab- lished by Contract 52YS effective the 22nd day of May 1965. This is retroactive to July l, 1967. Section 8. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a copy of this ordinance to the Finance Director immediately upon its passage. Section 9. That any ordinance or resolution, or parts of ordinance or parts of resolution, inconsistent herein, and especially Ordinance No. 68-157, are hereby repealed concurrently with the effective date of this Ordinance. Section 10. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of the fact of the immedi- ate necessity of adjusting compensation for City employees so as to malce such compensation commensurate with the requirements of the various jobs. WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
