CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 69-24 <br />BY DrY_j <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID <br />EXTRA OFFICE EMPLOYEES HIRED BY THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 2599, ENACTED <br />DECEMBER 3, 1957, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, it appears to this Council that it is necessary from <br />time to time, because of additional work required, illness or other <br />unforeseen circumstances, to temporarily employ extra clerical assist- <br />ance for the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section I. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to <br />(bmploy extra clerical assistance because of additional work required, <br />illness or other unforseen circumstances, in his opinion, may be nec- <br />essary to properly carry on the functions of the administrative de- <br />partments of the City. <br />Section 2. That the rates of compensation for such extra cleri- <br />cal assistance shall be in accordance with their experience and the re- <br />quirements of the City, on a sliding scale of between $1.35 per hour to <br />$2.50 per hour. <br />Section 3. That Ordinance No. 2599, passed December 3, 1957, <br />or any other ordinance, part or section of any ordinance inconsistent <br />herewith, be and the same is hereby repealed. <br />Section 4. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to <br />forward a copy of this ordinance to the Director of Finance immediately <br />upon its passaqe. <br />Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of the City in order to enable the City of North Olmsted to com- <br />pete and hire additional help at a rate commensurate with other employees. <br />WHEREFORE, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED.
