CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 69 3.D <br />BY F. , ?_ <br />AN ORDINANCE GIVING CONSENT OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED TO PARTICIPATION WITH THE <br />DIRECTOR OF HIGHWAYS OF THE STATE OF OHIO <br />AND THE NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL IN PROVIDING <br />REPORTS FOR A HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM ANALYSIS <br />AND PROPOSING TO COOPERATE WITH THE SAID <br />DIRECTOR IN CERTAIN MATTERS INCIDENT THERETO, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, to aid in the preparation of statewide and <br />local sarfety programs necessary to meet the requirements of the <br />Federal Highway Safety Act of 1966, the Director of Highways of the <br />State of Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the STATE, has executed an <br />agreement with the National Safety Council for a Highway Safety <br />Program Analysis based on reports submitted by cities, and specific <br />recommendations to each city, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />hereinafter referred to as the CITY, desires to participate in <br />securing the necessary information for the analysis which will be <br />used in preparing the City's safety program, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAiHF3D by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. It is declared to be in the public inter- <br />est that the CITY participate in the completion and submission of the <br />necessary report forms furnished by the National Safety Council for <br />study by the National Safety Council in preparation of the Analysis, <br />twenty (20) copies of the completed Analysis to be furnished to the <br />CITY. <br />Section 2. The CITY agrees to contribute the sum of <br />$350.00 and to deposit this amount with the STATE, on request by the <br />STATE, for the preparation of the Analysis, and in addition to fill <br />out and submit the report forms furnished by the National Safety <br />Council. <br />Section 3. The Mayor is hereby empowered and directed <br />on behalf of the CITY to enter into such agreements as are necessary <br />to carry forward the intent and purpose of this ordinance and to <br />appoint a project coordinator who will cooperate with the STATE and <br />the National Safety Council to provide data that will be appropriate <br />and necessary for this program. <br />Section 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to <br />furnish the STATE with a certified copy of this ordinance immediately <br />upon the taking effect thereof, and upon the acceptance and approval <br />of said ordinance by the STATE, it shall become a binding agreement <br />on the CITY and STATE. <br />Section 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public <br />peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by reason of the need <br />for promoting public safety.
