• .?, r i CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 69-76 BY / AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, SECTION 331.18 (CODIFIED ORDINANCE) ENTITLED "OPERATION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE TO STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS," TO CONFORM TO CHANGES ENACTED BY THE OHIO GEN- ERAL ASSEMBLY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of North Olmsted that the North Olmsted Traf- fic Code be reviewed to eliminate any conflicts with provisions of the State Statutes, as enacted by the Ohio General Assembly. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section l. That Section 331.18, Chapter 331 (Codified Ordi- nance) of the North Olmsted Traffic Code reading as follows: 331.18 OPERATION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE AT STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS. "The driver of any emergency vehicle, when res- ponding to an emergency call, upon approaching a red or stop signal or any stop sign shall slow down as necessary for safety to traffic, but may proceed cautiously past such red or stop sign or signal with due regard for the safety of all per- sons using the street or highway." be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 331.18 EMERGENCY OR PUBLIC SAFETY VEHICLES AT STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS. The driver of any emergency vehicle or public safety vehicle, when responding to an emergency call, upon approaching a red or stop signal or any stop sign shall slow down as necessary for safety to traffic, but may proceed cautiously past such red or stop sign or signal with due regard for the safety of all persons using the street or highway. Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, or resolutions or parts of resolutions, inconsistent with the provi- sions of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance.
