• .?, <br />r <br />i <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 69-76 <br />BY / <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO, SECTION 331.18 <br />(CODIFIED ORDINANCE) ENTITLED "OPERATION OF <br />EMERGENCY VEHICLE TO STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS," <br />TO CONFORM TO CHANGES ENACTED BY THE OHIO GEN- <br />ERAL ASSEMBLY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is in the best <br />interest of the City of North Olmsted that the North Olmsted Traf- <br />fic Code be reviewed to eliminate any conflicts with provisions of <br />the State Statutes, as enacted by the Ohio General Assembly. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section l. That Section 331.18, Chapter 331 (Codified Ordi- <br />nance) of the North Olmsted Traffic Code reading as follows: <br />331.18 OPERATION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE <br />AT STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS. <br />"The driver of any emergency vehicle, when res- <br />ponding to an emergency call, upon approaching <br />a red or stop signal or any stop sign shall slow <br />down as necessary for safety to traffic, but may <br />proceed cautiously past such red or stop sign or <br />signal with due regard for the safety of all per- <br />sons using the street or highway." <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />331.18 EMERGENCY OR PUBLIC SAFETY VEHICLES <br />AT STOP SIGNALS OR SIGNS. <br />The driver of any emergency vehicle or public <br />safety vehicle, when responding to an emergency <br />call, upon approaching a red or stop signal or <br />any stop sign shall slow down as necessary for <br />safety to traffic, but may proceed cautiously <br />past such red or stop sign or signal with due <br />regard for the safety of all persons using the <br />street or highway. <br />Section 2. That any ordinance or parts of ordinances, <br />or resolutions or parts of resolutions, inconsistent with the provi- <br />sions of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed with the effective date <br />of this Ordinance.
