CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 81-85 <br />gy: 'KRS. SARINGER <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($12,000.00) <br />FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR THE DESIGN <br />AND CONSTRUCTION OF A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ON THE EAST SIDE OF <br />STEARNS ROAD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has encountered numerous problems <br />regarding the safety of pedestrians walking along the east side of the Stearns <br />Road, and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council has applied for Community Development <br />Block Grant Funds, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted passed Ordinance No. 81-42 authorizing <br />the Service Director to advertise for bids for the construction of a pedestrian <br />bridge, and <br />41HEREAS, a recent examination of the City financial records by the State <br />Auditor has determined that the sum of all funds for a project, including <br />federal funds, must be approriated by Council before certification by the <br />Finance Director. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That Council hereby appropriates the sum of Twelve Thousand <br />Dollars 12,000.00) from the Community Development Blcok Grant Funds for the <br />purpose of designing and constructing a pedestrian bridge on the east side of <br />Stearns Road approximately 470 feet south of Lorain Road, S.R. 10. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council shall immediately forward an attested <br />copy of the Ordinance to the Auditor of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTIOPJ 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, <br />safety and welfare of the City, and for the further reason that the federal <br />funds are available, and the weather is now suitable for construction, and the <br />pedestrian bridge is needed to preserve the health and safety of the inhabitants of <br />the City; wherefore, this Ordinance shall be i:n full force and effect from and <br />immediately after its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />? <br />FLORENCE CAMPBELL, CLERK COUNCIL <br />APPROVED: <br />.--_ ? <br />ROBERT W.
