CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81 - 70 <br />BY: <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICF TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERING EMPLOYEES OF THE <br />POLICE FORCE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR <br />FALSE ARREST INSURANCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council and the Administration desire to obtain a <br />policy of liability insurance protecting employees of the Police Depart- <br />ment against all causes of action arising out of allegations of false <br />arrest, and <br />WHEREAS, it is tl-ie desire of the Council to authorize the <br />Director of Public Service to advertise for liability insurance, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE pF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service be and he is <br />hereby authorized to advertise for bids for insurance coverage respecting <br />the liability of all employees of the Police Department against all causes <br />of action arising out of allegations of false arrest, according to specifi- <br />cations now on file in his office, and that upon the approval by the Board <br />of Control, the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract <br />and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessa.ry for the preservation of the public <br />health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that the existing <br />insurance coverage expires on July 29, 1981, and further provided it <br />received the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : <br />ATTEST: <br />Florence E.
