SWIETYNIOWSKI <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP <br />AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A THREE-WAY TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br />AT THE INTERSECTION OF BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD AND <br />FITCH ROAD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to the closing of Columbia Road as a result of <br />a collapse of a culvert, additional traffic has been diverted <br />from Columbia Road to Fitch Road, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously adopted Ordinance <br />No. 81-33, which provided for the installativn of stop signs at <br />the intersection of Butternut Ridge Road and Fitch Road, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the stop signs <br />so installed are inadeauate with respect to proper traffic control, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it is more appro- <br />priate to install a traffic signal, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of the Traffic Control Map, which said map can be <br />amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police Department be and the same is <br />hereby aut orize and directed to amend the Traffic Control Map <br />and File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the <br />installation of a traf£ic control signal at the intersection of <br />Butternut Ridge Road where the same intersects with Fitch Road, <br />which traffic control signal will control the traffic traveling <br />in a northerly direction on Fitch Road where the same intersects <br />with Butternut Ridge Road and also controlling the traffic travel- <br />ing both easterly and westerly on Butternut Ridge Road where the <br />same intersects Fitch Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby directed to <br />cause sai tra ic control signal to be installed in accordance <br />with the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation <br />of th.e public health, safety and welfare, and for the further <br />reason that it is immediately necessary to correct the hazardous <br />traffic problem which has resulted because of the closing of <br />Columbia Road, and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor.
