ACTING MAYOR <br />AN ORDINANCE Ab1ENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP <br />AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TWO (2) STOP SIGNS AT <br />THE INTERSECTION OF BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD AND <br />FITCH ROAD, IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, due to the closing of Columbia Road as a result <br />of a collapse of a culvert additional traffic has been diverted <br />from Columbia Road to Fitch Road, and <br />WHEREAS, because the traffic has increased on Fitch Road <br />it has become much more difficult for automobile traffic to enter <br />Butternut Ridge Road, and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that the installation of <br />additional stop signs at said intersection would permit the traffic <br />traveling on Fitch in a northerly direction entering upon Butternut <br />Ridge Road in a safe manner, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of the Traffic Control Map, which said map can be <br />amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTTON 1: That the Police Department be and the same is <br />hereby aut orize and directed to amend the Traf£ic Control Map <br />and File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the <br />installation of a stop sign on the southwest corner of Butternut <br />Ridge Road where the same intersects with Fitch Road and by further <br />installing a stop sign on the north side of Butternut Ridge Road <br />placed in such a fashion as to reauire vehicles to stop when <br />traveling in a westerly direction on Butternut Ridge Road before <br />the intersection of Butternut Ridge Road and Fitch Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby directed <br />to cause sai stop signs to be installed in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of <br />the public peace, property, health and safety of th_e City and for <br />the further reason that it is immediately necessary to correct <br />a hazardous traffic problem which has resulted because of the <br />closing of Columbia Road, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor.
