The Grantee shall afford
equal opportunity in employment and shall not discriminate against any
person because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, or sex.
SECTION 12: Renewal of Franchise. This franchise or any renewal
thereof may be renewed for an additional ten-year term in accordance with
the renewal provisions of the Cable Act.
SECTION 13: Subscriber Privacy. Except as necessary to render service
or detect unauthorized reception of communications, the Grantee shall not
use the Cable System to collect personally identifiable information
concerning any subscriber without the prior written or electronic consent
of the subscriber concerned. The Grantee shall only disclose such
information consistent with federal, state and local privacy laws.
SECTION 14: Non-Exclusivity of Franchise. No rights herein granted to
the Grantee to construct, maintain, install or operate the Cable System
shall be construed as exclusive or as preventing the City from granting a
franchise or privilege to any other person, firm or corporation.
SECTION 15: Acceptance of Franchise. After the effective date of this
Ordinance and within thirty (30) days thereof, this Ordinance, if accepted,
shall be accepted by the Grantee by its filing with the Clerk an
unconditional written acceptance hereof.
