r r ~ <br />`,~ t <br />AGREEMENT <br />ARTICLE 1 - PURPOSE <br />Section 1. This Agreement is made between the City of North <br />Olmsted, hereinafter referred to as the "City", and Ohio Council <br />8 and Local No. 2681 of the American Federation of State, County <br />and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the <br />"Union". The male pronoun or adjective used herein refers to the <br />female also unless otherwise indicated. .The term "employee" or <br />"employees where used herein refers to all- employees in the <br />bargaining unit. The purpose of this Agreement is to provide a <br />fair and responsible method of enabling employees covered by the <br />Contract to participate through Union representation in the <br />establishment of terms and conditions and of their employment, <br />including rates of pay, wages, hours and working conditions, and <br />to establish a peaceful procedure for the resolution of all <br />differences between the parties. <br />ARTICLE 2 - RECOGNITION <br />Section 1. The Union is recognized as the sole and <br />exclusive representative for a bargaining unit of all clerical <br />and technical employees of the City of North Olmsted in the <br />classifications contained in Appendix B, with respect to wages, <br />hours and other terms and conditions of employment, but excluding <br />all confidential employees, all police and fire department <br />employees, management level employees and supervisors as defined <br />in the Act, and all employees currently represented by and <br />employee organization. <br />- 1 - <br />
