B. A safety committee consisting of the Service <br />Director and his designee and two (2) safety <br />representatives appointed by the Local Union <br />shall confer at regular monthly intervals, if <br />necessary, for the purpose of attempting to <br />maintain safe working conditions for employees <br />in the Bargaining Unit. Additional meetings <br />may be held if required by unusual circumstances. <br />The Safety Committee shall have the authority to <br />deal with safety procedures, safety and sani- <br />tation problems, and shall decide upon the <br />protective equipment to be used under Paragraph <br />A. <br />ARTICLE 28: DISABLED EMPLOYEE <br />Section l: The City and the Union shall attempt through <br />agreement to place partially disabled employees on light-work <br />jobs which are available or become available during the term of <br />their disability, and which they are qualified to perform. <br />Section 2: The City will require that any employee who is <br />disabled either on or off the job, and is absent from work (sick <br />time or leave of absence) for a period in excess of 30 days will <br />be required to submit a City furnished Return to Work Form. <br />ARTICLE 29: NO STRIKES <br />Section 1: Neither the Union nor any employee or employees <br />will either instigate, promote, sponsor, engage, or participate <br />in, or condone any strike or work slow down. Any employee who <br />participates in, advances, leads or promotes a strike or work <br />slow down shall be subject to disciplinary action up to and <br />including discharge. <br />36 <br />
