_. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89 -57 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENTS BY <br />DAVID M. GAREAU OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD <br />IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm <br />their dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that <br />those participating in the Scouting program, both the boys and their <br />leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that <br />the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are committments <br />that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting <br />to such an extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a <br />noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the following <br />levels of Scouting had to be passed: Tenderfoot, Second Class Scout, First <br />Class Scout, Star Scout, and Life Scout; and <br />WHEREAS, DAVID M. GAREAU, in achieving the Eagle Scout Award, has <br />earned the following skill awards: Citizenship, Camping, Family Living, <br />Hiking, Cooking, Swimming, and First Aid, and has also earned 21 merit <br />badges; and <br />WHEREAS, DAVID M. GAREAU served as Quartermaster for Troop 761, as well <br />as Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, <br />and has served as a member of the Leadership Court; and <br />WHEREAS, with his Eagle project he greatly assisted the City of North <br />Olmsted by repainting and refurbishing the North Olmsted Food Bank; and <br />WHEREAS, DAVID M. GAREAU has also attended two high adventure outings, <br />one at Camp Chickisaw and the other at Ohiopyle White Water Rafting, and <br />also attended three Summer camps and received third year Pipestone Award; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, after having accomplished all of the above-mentioned <br />challenges, DAVID M. GAREAU was interviewed and tested by the Eagle Board <br />of Review and recommended for Eagle Scout Award; and <br />
