r <br />~. s - <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 89 - 11 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON COPELAND TO MAKE <br />APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />1989, (15TH YEAR), AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after public hearing, has determined that the <br />City of North Olmsted qualifies for Community Development Block Grant funds; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes it shall by Ordinance No. 88-19 and <br />approval by the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners receive approximately <br />$63,137.50 for the Cook Road Water Line Project for Fiscal Year 1988 as..well as <br />Fiscal Year 1989 based upon a Community Development Block Grant application <br />fund ceiling of $150,000 per fiscal year, the allocation formula used by <br />Cuhahoga County in awarding and contracting funds to North Olmsted and <br />Olmsted Township, the contract bid award of $303,000, and the commitment of <br />$50,450 by Sunrise Land Company; and <br />WHEREAS, this City has designated three projects which are deserving <br />of being funded through Community Development Block Grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of designating, in order of priority, <br />the street improvement of Elm Road, the historic preservation and removal of <br />architectural barriers for the handicapped of Town Hall, and the development <br />of a bikeway connector between the Cedar Point Hill bike path (Columbia Road) <br />and the Interstate 480 bike path (Butternut Ridge Road);.arid <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of designating a Community Development <br />Block Grant application amount not to exceed $35,000 for Elm Road, $25,000 <br />for Town Hall, and $25,000 for the bikeway connector; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that it is necessary to adopt an <br />Ordinance indicating there is authority to apply for said Community Develop- <br />ment Block Grant funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this council does hereby authorize and direct Don <br />Copeland to apply for Community Development Block Grant funds for Fiscal <br />Year 1989 (15th Year) on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. Included in <br />the application shall be the aforesaid projects. <br />
