-,.r '~ - CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 89-6 BY: DEAN MCKAY AND RALPH BOHLMANN AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FROM ENGINEERING FIRMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE CITY WITH ESTIMATES OF COST FOR THE PREPARATION OF A COMPREHENSIVE ORDINANCE DEALING WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT AND IMPOSITION OF IMPACT FEES TO BE IMPOSED UPON THOSE DEVELOPING WITHIN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. WHEREAS, in recent years the City has experienced a great deal of growth in the commercial sector; and WHEREAS, as a result of that growth, the City has been impacted by additional traffic congestion, lack of signalization, overburdened secondary and primary roads, etc.; and WHEREAS, this Council is aware of the future potential of similar problems experienced in the past relative to the impact of growth; and WHEREAS, this Council believes it only appropriate that some method of fair and equitable impact fees be established to impose upon those burdening the City with a fee that is commensurate with the impact vested upon the City; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate under the circumstances to request the administration to obtain proposals relative to developing impact fees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO. SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed to obtain proposals from qualified engineering firms for the purpose of developing a comprehensive ordinance dealing with the imposition of impact fees upon those developing within the City of North Olmsted and that after having obtained the proposals, to recommend to the City Council her recommendation as to the firm who can best serve the needs of the City of North Olmsted, which recommendation shall be subject to confirmation of Council.
