-,.r <br />'~ - <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 89-6 <br />BY: DEAN MCKAY AND RALPH BOHLMANN <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FROM <br />ENGINEERING FIRMS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE CITY <br />WITH ESTIMATES OF COST FOR THE PREPARATION OF A <br />COMPREHENSIVE ORDINANCE DEALING WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT <br />AND IMPOSITION OF IMPACT FEES TO BE IMPOSED UPON THOSE <br />DEVELOPING WITHIN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, in recent years the City has experienced a great deal of <br />growth in the commercial sector; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of that growth, the City has been impacted by <br />additional traffic congestion, lack of signalization, overburdened <br />secondary and primary roads, etc.; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council is aware of the future potential of similar <br />problems experienced in the past relative to the impact of growth; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes it only appropriate that some method of <br />fair and equitable impact fees be established to impose upon those <br />burdening the City with a fee that is commensurate with the impact vested <br />upon the City; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate under the circumstances to <br />request the administration to obtain proposals relative to developing <br />impact fees. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to obtain proposals from qualified engineering firms for the purpose of <br />developing a comprehensive ordinance dealing with the imposition of impact <br />fees upon those developing within the City of North Olmsted and that after <br />having obtained the proposals, to recommend to the City Council her <br />recommendation as to the firm who can best serve the needs of the City of <br />North Olmsted, which recommendation shall be subject to confirmation of <br />Council. <br />
