CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 89-4 BY: MAYOR M. YVONNE PETRIGAC AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN CUYAHOGA LODGE N0. 25 OF THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO SAID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Administration has bargained with the Western Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25 of the Fraternal Order of Police in an effort to reach an amicable settlement between said Union and the City; and WHEREAS, said agreement has been finalized and put in writing, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, this Council hereby approves the wage and benefit package established therein and desires to have the same formalized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a collective bargaining agreement with the Western Cuyahoga Lodge Na. 25 of the Fraternal Order of Police a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit A. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, parts of ordinances or other agreements inconsistent herewith are hereby specifically repealed. SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to provide for the continuity of services within the City and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
