CITY OF NORTH 0124STED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 83-21 <br />BY: MR. tiNILAP.1OSKY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION <br />FOR ALL COUNCIL AT-LARGE MENBERS OF TfiE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLnBTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE CONMlENCING JANiJARY l, <br />1984 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1987, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY y AS ANENDED. <br />I'Vf-MREA.S, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, in Article IV, Section 6, <br />requires the CoLmcil to fix the compensation for all elected officials at least <br />thirty (30) days prior to the filing date of nominating petitions for terms <br />beginning on the next succeeding lst dav of January, and <br />WHFREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected of£icials <br />in the City of North Olmsted is April 8, 1983, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Comcil to establish the compensatian for <br />all elected o£ficials in compliance with the Charter r.eQuirements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY Tf-IE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUN'TY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the salary to be paid to all Council At-Large Members for <br />the term commencin.g January 1, 1984, and ending December 31, 1987, shall be as <br />follows: <br />YEAR 1987 .......................... $5,000.00 <br />SECTION 2: That the compensation as specified in Sectior_ 1 hereof is being <br />establis e only for the purpose of complying with the Charter requirements as <br />outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in no way affects any of the other provisions <br />of any ordinance relating to the organizational chart of either administrative or <br />legislative officers. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, <br />and for the further reason that it is imediately necessarv to comply with the re- <br />quirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted regardinn the establishment <br />of salaries at leastthirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating petitions, and <br />further, provided it receives the affirmative vo*e of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Cotmcil, it shall take effect and be in force iaTUr?ediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : _?Gt?c.t?(L e2' 9..1,,??.? <br />? <br />ATTEST: <br />6 • _ ? <br />ORENCE E.
