In no event', shall the employee <br />bepermitted to accumulate vacation leave credit in excess of the vacation leave <br />credit earned in the prior year. Employees shall be required to take or request <br />to be paid for such accumulated vacation leave credit within one (1) year from the <br />date employee requested aceumulation of such vacation leave credit. Employee shall <br />forfeit his right to take or to be paid for any vacation leave to his credit which <br />is in excess of the accumulated vacation credit for one (1) prior year. All such <br />excess vacation leave credit shall be eliminated from the employee's vacation <br />leave balance. <br />SECTION 3: In all departments, vacations must be scheduled with and author- <br />ized by the department head. Schedules are to be coordinated so as not to disrupt <br />necessary City services or functions of the department. <br />SECTION 4: That any ordinance or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith <br />are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall take e.ffect and be in force from and <br />after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />A <br />FLORENCE E.
