CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RE SOLUT I ON NO. 83 - 66 <br />BY: Mrs. Petrivac <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NGRTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS <br />COMMISSION TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE OHIO HISTORIC <br />PRESEFVATION OFFICE FOR A GRANT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1983 <br />AND DECLARING AN ED4ERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted recognizes the North Olmsted <br />Landmarks Commission as the agency of the City engaged in matters <br />of historic preservation and restoration, and <br />WHEREAS, matching grant funds are available to eligible appli- <br />cants through the Ohio Historic Preservation Office, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has already appropriated <br />funds for the purposes of restoring, preserving, and rehabilitating <br />the North Olmsted Town Hall, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, through the Landmarks Com- <br />mission, wishes to continue the rehabilitation process already be- <br />gun in this historic building, and <br />WHEREAS, the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of <br />the North Olmsted. Town Hall will serve a-public benefit, by per- <br />mitting this building to continue in use as a x)ublic facility. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CU1'AHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the North Olmsted Landmarks Commission be and <br />is hereby autiorized to make application to the Ohio Historic Preser- <br />vation Office for matching grant funds for purposes of restoration, <br />preservation, and rehabilitation of the North Olmsted Town Hall, <br />within the eligibility requirements delineated in the grant applica- <br />tion. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />it is immediately necessary in order to meet the deadline for grant <br />applications of June 1, 1983, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ?????'? <br />ATTEST: e <br />lorence E.
