SECTION 12: That the salary ranges established for the Year 1983 will e effective July 4, 1983, with respect to all salaries within the range designated herein as payable in 1983. The salary ranges designated as being applicable in 1984 shall be effective January 1, 1984. Salaries specified in this Ordinance shall be paid by the Director of Finance on a by-weekly basis. SECTION 13: The For 6 and 7 ereo will be paid time rates of pay for hours in any one day and time and of pay, for hours worked in work week. emen and Dispatcher listed in Sections time and one-half of their straight worked in excess of eight (8) hours one-half of their straight time rate excess of forty (40) hours in any one SECTION 14: That all full time administrative and legislative personnel aving completed five (5) years of full time continuous service as employees of-said departments shall be paid an additional four percent (4a) of their base annual salary; thereafter until completion of the tenth (lOth) year of full time continuous service, after which such employee shall receive five percent (50) of their base annual salary; thereafter until the completion of their fifteenth (lSth) year of full time continuous service, such employee shall receive six percent (6%) of their base annual salary until after the completion of the twentieth (20th) year of full time continuous service, and during each year of full time service thereafter they shall receive seven percent (70) of their base annual salary as longevity increments. SECTION 15: That all full time administrative and legislative personnel list? within this Ordinance shall receive the following holidays off, unless required to work by their supervisor or the D7ayor in emergencies and shall receive their regular rate of pay: New Year's Day; President's Day; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; i,abor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; the employee's birthday; and a floating holiday. SECTION 16: That all full time administrative and legislative personnel llstec?ithin this Ordinance shall be entitled to an annual vacation in accordance iaith Ordinance No. 83-31. SECTION 17: That all ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance. SECTION 18: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason it is immediately necessary ro review all pay scales and bring them into line due to inflation and cost of living increases, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
