CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 83- 98 <br />BY: DEAN McKAY <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP <br />AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLR4STED TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ONE (1) STOP SIGN TO BE <br />PLACED ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF MITCHELL AND <br />WESTVIEW DRIVES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the intersection <br />of Mitchell and Westview constitutes a danger to the traveling <br />public because of the fact that there is no stop sign presently <br />erected there, and <br />WHEREA5, since construction has begun on a new development <br />on Linda Drive there is a greater possibility of accidents occurring <br />at this intersection because of the increased traffic, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to have a stop <br />sign placed on the southeast corner of Mitchell and Westview, thereby <br />controlling traffic travelling in a northerly direction on <br />Westview, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of a Traffic Control Map and File, which said map and <br />file can be amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police Department be and the same <br />is hereby aut orized and directed to amend the Traffic Control <br />Map and File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon <br />the installation of one (1) stop sign in a manner as aforesaid. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directe3 to cause said stop sign to be installed in accordance <br />with the provisions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of <br />the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason <br />that this hazard is more prevalent during the construction season, <br />and further, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED : o2„e ?.3 <br />ATTEST: <br />. ? 1r- ?w.:?.?? -,n..,.+-?.. • l?- <br />ROBERT W.
