. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 84 - 101 <br />BY: Mrs. Petrigac <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING OHIO SENATE BILL 321, <br />WHICH PROVIllES FOR THE METHOD BY WHICH LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES HANDLE MISSING CHILD <br />REPORTS AND THE INTEGRATION OF SAME INTO THE <br />COMPUTER NETWORK OF ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />AGENCIES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in recent years there has been an increased <br />awareness of the number of children who are missing due to not <br />only illegal activity but, also unruliness; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that the speed of reporting <br />the circumstances around which children are missing often is the <br />important link to finding missing children and in cases of <br />illegal activity assists in the apprehension of the prepetrators <br />of child stealing and kidnapping; and <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 321 is designed to create a network of <br />reporting missing children and, at the same time, integrate the <br />missing child reports into the computer networks and, at the same <br />time, adds another facet to law enforcement training, namely that <br />the officer must be trained in handling missing child cases; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to support this <br />Senate Bill. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby wish to express <br />its support of Senate Bill 321 by the passage of this Resolution. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Ohio Senate <br />and the Ohio House, as well as Senator Gary Suhadolik and State <br />Representative Jacobs. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be and the same <br />hereby is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of this City and for the further reason that it is <br />immediately necessary to forward this Resolution of Support prior <br />to the fall recess, which is November 14, 1984; wherefore, this <br />Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and immediately <br />after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
