This shall not prohibit the use of equalization <br />tanks utilized to regulate flows. <br />(f) Supplementary Limitations. No Discharger shall discharge <br />wastewater containing concentrations of the following enumerated mate- <br />rials, exceeding the following values: <br />Material Concentration (ppm) <br />ar s en ic * <br />c adm i um 4 <br />copper 1 <br />cyanide 1 <br />total cyanide * <br />free cyanide * <br />iron 15 <br />lead 0.5 <br />mercury * <br />nickel * <br />nickel chromium 3 <br />phenols 10 <br />silver * <br />total cadmium * <br />trivalent chromium 1 <br />hexavalent chromium 2 <br />z inc 2 <br />* Values may be established once sufficient data is available. <br />Mass limitations on Dischargers are intended to prevent the <br />use of dilution to meet the Pretreatment Standards or Requirements of <br />the Codified Ordinances, or in other cases where the imposition of <br />mass limitations is deemed appropriate by the City. <br />No statement contained in the Codified OrBinances shall be <br />construed as prohibiting any special agreement or arrangement between <br />the City and any person whereby an industrial waste of unusual <br />strength or character may be admitted to the sewage disposal works, <br />either before or after pretreatment, provided there is no impairment <br />of the functioning of the sewage disposal works by reason of the <br />admission of such wastes and no extra costs are incurred by the City <br />without recompense by such person. Payment for extra strength <br />wastewater or wastewater of unusual character shall be in proportion <br />to cost and consistent with the user charge system, Chapter 915 of the <br />Codified Ordinances. <br />917.03 ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGES. <br />Each Discharger shall provide protection from accidental discharge <br />of prohibited or regulated materials or substances established by the <br />Codified Ordinances.
