CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8 5- 124 <br />BY: YVONNE PETRIGAC <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE "UMBRELLA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION" <br />CONCEPT PROPOSED BY THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE COORDINATING <br />AGENCY FOR OBTAINING SECTION 16(b)(2) FUNDING FOR THE PUR- <br />CHASE OF PARATRANSIT VEHICLES AND INDICATING A WILLINGNESS <br />AND DESIRE ON THE PART OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO SECURE <br />A SEAT ON THE POLICY BOARD OF SAID CORPORATION. <br />WHEREAS, The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) <br />has proposed the formation of a non-profit corporation, consisting of <br />membership from the private and public sectors of this area, for the <br />purpose of obtaining federal 16(b)(2) funding to purchase paratransit <br />vehicles to serve qualifying residents of this area; and <br />WHEREAS, it would be a benefit to the residents of North Olmsted <br />to have this City participate in such a program as a hub service center; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it would further be a benefit to the residents of North <br />Olmsted to have this City secure a seat on the policy board of the <br />non-profit corporation to be formed; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the City of North Olmsted approves of the Northeast <br />Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency's proposed concept of forming an <br />"umbrella non-profit corporation" consisting of inembership from this <br />areas' public and private sectors, in order to obtain Section 16(b)(2) <br />funding to purchase paratransit vehicles for use by handicapped,senior <br />and low to moderate income citizens. <br />SECTION 2: That the City of North Olmsted desires and is willing to <br />obtain a seat on the policy board of the proposed "umbrella non-profit <br />corporation." <br />SECTION 3: That the Mayor, or his designee, is hereby directed <br />to communicate the contents of this Resolution to the Northeast Ohio <br />Areawide Coordinating Agency, and is further empowered to take whatever <br />steps are reasonable and necessary to implement the approval and goal <br />expressed within this Resolution. <br />PASSED : <br />ATTEST: <br />6-. <br />FLORENCE E.
